Ciliary body Melanoma(CBM).

CBM is an interesting eye malignant cancer that affects the ciliary body, and the uveal tract. The ciliary body melanocytes are suggested by some studies to have been exposed to genetic mutations, environmental factors and UV radiations, which causes the ciliary body to increase to an unusual size.

CBM are rare but can be associated with the entire uvea tract, i.e iris and choroid and may subsequently spread to the liver or other important organs of the body. Good slit lamp examination and dilation cannot be overemphasized for prompt diagnosis.

However is it important for patients to get their eyes tested by an eye care professionals for immediate intervention.
